Sweepstakes Official Rules

The Passport Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) starts at 12:01 am (CST) on August 1, 2011 and ends at 11:59 pm (CST) on 12/31, 2011 (“Sweepstakes Period”). This Sweepstakes shall be subject to these Official Rules, and by entering, all entrants agree to abide and be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges and Sponsors.

1. Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open to natural persons who are legal U.S. residents of the 48 contiguous United States (excluding residents of NY and FL) who are eighteen years and older as of the first day of the Sweepstakes Period. Employees (and their immediate household or family members) of Chicago Tribune Company and the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (“Sponsors”) and any of their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, prize providers, promotion and delivery contractors and/or public relations companies associated with this Sweepstakes, are not eligible to participate. A potential winner may be requested to provide proof that all eligibility requirements are met as well as proof of ownership of the email address associated with the winning entry. Void where prohibited by law and in Florida and New York. This Sweepstakes shall be governed and enforced pursuant to Illinois law, excluding choice of law provisions.

2. How to Enter: Go to www.navypierpassport.com and register for the Sweepstakes and for the Navy Pier Passport Program. You must provide all information requested on the registration form, and your contact information must be accurate. By registering, you agree to receive a Navy Pier Passport offer via email. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, the holder of the email account will be deemed the person who submitted the entry. Incomplete entries will be disqualified, and Sponsors are not responsible for online registrations and entries that are lost, late, deleted, garbled, corrupted, misdelivered, or misdirected as a result of technical, internet or other online difficulties or errors. The computer clock of Sponsors’ webmaster is the official timekeeping device of the Sweepstakes. Limit one registration entry per person; entries in excess of the foregoing limit will be disqualified. All received entries become the property of the Sponsors and will not be returned. 3. Winner and Notification: On or about Jan 30th, 2012 Sponsors will select potential winner in a random drawing from among all eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Sponsors will make all final decisions in any and all issues related to this Sweepstakes, and their decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsors will attempt to contact potential winner by telephone or email. Winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing from among all remaining entries if: (1) winner does not claim his or her prize within 72 hours of the first attempted notification; (2) winner does not fulfill the eligibility requirements; (3) winner does not adhere to the Official Rules; and/or (4) if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, refused, or declined.

4. Prize and Delivery: One Grand Prize winner will receive an American Airlines® (“AA”) prize letter that entitles the winner to redeem such letter for two round-trip main cabin airline tickets on AA to a destination in the US 48, Bahamas, Bermuda, Brussels, Canada, Caribbean, Frankfort, London, Mexico, Beijing or Shanghai, China from the major airport nearest Grand Prize winner’s residence that is served by AA. The approximate retail value of the prize, as determined by AA, is $1,500 to $10,500, depending on the destination winner chooses. Travel must be completed by the date set forth in the prize letter. For additional terms and conditions regarding prize travel, please see the prize letter, which is available at www.navypierpassport.com. Grand Prize winner and his or her travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary and possess all required travel documents. In the event winner is a minor in his or her state of residence, prize will be awarded to winner’s parent or legal guardian on winner’s behalf. Guest who is a minor in his or her state of residence must be accompanied at all times by parent or legal guardian.

Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive a 1099 tax form reflecting the actual value of the prize, if the prize exceeds $600. Prize substitutions are not allowed, and prize is not transferable. Only Sponsors may elect, at their discretion, to substitute a prize of greater or equal value due to lack of availability for any given reason. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsors. Properly claimed prize will be awarded, but in no event will Sponsors award more prizes than are provided for in these Official Rules. Meals, gratuities, ground transportation and all other expenses not specified in the Sweepstakes Rules as part of the Grand Prize shall be the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner. In addition to any restrictions set forth in this paragraph, the prize shall also be subject to the AA restrictions attached to these Official Rules as Schedule I, as well as any and all procedures and policies contained in the AA prize letter sent to the Grand Prize winner.

6. Other Conditions: Winner will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release, and, if so, it must be returned to Sponsors within one week of the date Sponsors send it to winner. Failure to return such document will result in that winner being disqualified, and Sponsors may randomly draw another winner from among all remaining eligible entries. Guest of winner (and parent or legal guardian in the event guest is a minor in his or her state of residence) must sign and return Release prior to accompanying winner on prize trip.

By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release, waive and hold harmless Sponsors and its affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporations and advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents from any and all injuries, claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind (including without limitation attorney’s fees) resulting from accessing the Sweepstakes website; submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes; the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or; any printing, typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of any prize. Neither the failure of Sponsors to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of these Official Rules or the failure, delay or omission by Sponsors in exercising any right with respect to any term of these Official Rules, will be construed as a waiver or relinquishment to any extent of Sponsors’ right to assert or rely upon any such provision or right in that or any other instance.

By accepting the prize, each winner agrees, where legal, to allow Sponsors and their agents and licensees to use their names, voices, photographs, likenesses and any information provided on the entry form, in any medium of communication, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, without additional compensation.

6. Internet/Fraud/Tampering: If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, or if this Sweepstakes or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Sweepstakes and processing of entries in accordance with these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the Sponsors’ sole opinion, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsors reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion thereof. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled, the Sponsors will conduct a random drawing to award prize from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation. If such cancellation, termination, modification, or suspension occurs, notification will be posted at the Sweepstakes website. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE (INCLUDING THE ENTRY SITE) OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. Sponsors reserve the right to prohibit any entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes if, at their sole discretion, Sponsors find such entrant to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or if such entrant repeatedly shows a disregard for, or attempts to circumvent, these Official Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner the Sponsors determine to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. Sponsors assume no liability for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Sweepstakes; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Sweepstakes; or (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the Sweepstakes website or any combination thereof.

7. Winner List or Official Rules: For an Official Winner List (available after 2/15, 2012), or a copy of these Official Rules, send a request and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Navy Pier Sweepstakes, Winner List Request, c/o Mary Eileen Weber, 435 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. All requests for Official Rules or Winner List must be received by 1/1, 2012 (Official Rules request) and 2/12, 2012 (Winner List request).

Sponsors: The sweepstakes is sponsored by Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (owner and operator of Navy Pier), 301 East Cermak Road, Chicago, IL 60616 and Chicago Tribune Company, 435 North Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60611 (“Sponsors”).

AA TRAVEL AWARDS/TICKETS – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Tickets have no value except when redeemed in accordance with the terms and conditions listed below. Tickets are not transferable or refundable.

2. Travel Awards provided in this agreement cannot be bartered or sold for cash, or in lieu of cash payment.

3. Tickets are subject to availability of promotional inventories and current blackout dates. Coach must be booked in “T” class, Business in “U” class and First in “Z” class. No open tickets are permitted. Blackout dates may apply.

4. Tickets must be issued by the American Airlines Ticket Redemption Center at 1-800-727-2142. Travel agencies cannot issue Tickets.

5. Minors who are declared winners must be accompanied on all prize flights by a parent or guardian.

6. Any applicable fees, taxes, surcharges, service charges or passenger facility charges are the responsibility of the user and must be paid at the time the Ticket is issued. Taxes shall include all federal, state, local and foreign taxes of any kind, and whether assessed for winning or otherwise coming into receipt of the Tickets, or in relation to use of the Tickets.

7. Tickets are valid for travel only on American Airlines, American Eagle, American’s regional airline affiliate or AmericanConnection® service (collectively referred to in this Exhibit B as “American Airlines”). AmericanConnection service is operated by Trans States Airlines, Inc., Chautauqua Airlines, Inc. and RegionsAir, Inc., each of which operates as an independent contractor. Travel is not valid on flights operated under a code sharing agreement with other air carriers.

8. Travel must be via the most direct American Airlines routing. Unnecessary and circuitous routings, connecting points and/or segments are prohibited. Stopovers, except for the next connecting flight, are not permitted.

9. American Airlines is not responsible for, and will not pay, expenses associated with transportation on other carriers, ground transportation, excess baggage charges or overnight lodging, if required.

10. If American Airlines, for any reason, discontinues service to the selected destination before the travel date, the user must select an alternate American Airlines destination.

11. After a Ticket has been issued, an administrative service charge of $100.00 will be assessed for any change requiring reticketing, such as a change of origin or destination. Changes requiring reticketing must have prior approval of ticket authorizer.

12. Travel must be completed by deadline set forth on the Prize Letter.

13. Lost or stolen Tickets will not be replaced.

14. Passengers are not eligible for AADVANTAGE mileage credit or any other promotional benefit that American may offer. AADVANTAGE miles and/or stickers cannot be used to upgrade.

15. Purchased upgrades are permitted by paying the difference between full fare for the authorized class of service and the next class of service. Paid upgrades are only allowed for next cabin. Two cabin upgrades will not be processed. Processing of purchased upgrades will be handled when redeeming certificate through our Ticket Redemption Center and may not be handled at airport ticket counters. Processing time is a minimum of 48 hours based on hours of operation of Ticket Redemption Center.

16. Customers will be instructed at the time of booking to contact our Ticket Redemption Center prior to flight departure if they plan on cancelling their ticketed reservation. If they fail to contact an AA representative via our Ticket Redemption Center or Reservations, a No-Show fee of $50 (coach), $75 (business), or $100 (first) per person will be charged to reinstate the reservation. All other rules apply.

17. Customers contacting Ticket Redemption Center to process a simple flight date/time change to their ticketed reservation will be charged a $25 change fee per person.
